[2] “Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.” – Isaiah 52:2 (NKJV)
As a youngster in the field of work, I studied what people use the money they earn to do for a while. And it was shocking that many used it on housing, food and paying bills like transport, electricity and phones (call airtime and internet bundle). That is quite clear that many people are just working for almost nothing. And even that explains why several people really hate the jobs they are doing. Dissatisfaction in life is a common thing people battle with, but many think it started from today’s bad economy. No! Even in the Old Testament, it was there. And to God’s glory, there’s a solution.
However, a solution to a problem is of no benefit until it is discovered and harnessed. So anybody going through hard times in life will still go through that if he doesn’t discover and use God’s method to overcome it.
In Isaiah 52:2, God questions us on why they should spend money for that which is not bread and wages (salary) for what doesn’t satisfy. He said that all these life atrocities will be solved when we come to Him. No wonder Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) that,
“…seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Dear reader, God is giving you an invitation to abundant life today. You can only accept it by coming to Him. Experiencing abundance in life is not in relocating to another country, getting a high-paying job or marrying a wealthy spouse. It’s in Jesus Christ. Only Him has what it takes to satisfy your soul. Come to Him today!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, despite the turmoil in life people face each day, help them to find You. Satisfy them with your lovingkindness, Lord Jesus. Amen!
