Pray for God’s Ministers

“[1] As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.” — 2 Thessalonians 3:1 NIV

Are you the congregant who focuses on receiving spiritual food from your pastor without praying for him? Or are you the type that honours God’s principle of sharing all good things with the one who teaches you the Word (see Galatians 6:6)?

Pastors and ministers of God are also humans. They need help, sometimes not financially, but prayerfully.

When Paul was concluding his second epistle to the church of Thessalonians, he requested them to pray for him and those who were with him – Silas and Timothy, as he wrote the epistle. But for what reason: “… that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored …”.

I want to assure you that it doesn’t only take money to spread the gospel rapidly; prayer is also inclusive. Because without prayer, a minister can stand before thousands, yet won’t minister Christ to them. For it’s written in 1 Corinthians 4:20 (NIV) that,

[20] “… the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.”

An eloquent speech isn’t enough for the minister, neither is good presentation skills. Power must flow from his mouth.

Therefore beloved, pray for God’s ministers all around the world. If Christ’s message spreads in the world, many people will get saved and evil will be reduced.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, I pray for pastors all around the world today. Empower them to preach the Word powerfully anywhere they find themselves so that people will get convicted by the Spirit and transformed by Your teachings through them. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
