[20] “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” – 1 Corinthians 4:20 (KJV)
One of the most significant things in God’s kingdom is power. Preaching without power doesn’t transform lives. Singing the gospel without power doesn’t change people’s lives. Unfortunately, this is happening in many believers’ lives. That is why there are people who attend Christian gatherings and still go to nightclubs and engage in various forms of promiscuity.
Dear preacher, the kingdom of God is a matter of power, not eloquence. Sometimes preaching in eloquence is good for understanding, but people will forget the words if no power is demonstrated. Signs and wonders don’t save people, but the Scripture says they are confirmations to the preaching of the word (see Mark 16:20).
Dear Christian, God is a God of power. He is sovereign. So desist from engaging in evil acts thinking He cannot discipline you. He will chastise you if He sees that you need it because He doesn’t want you to be spoiled by sin.
Preach the gospel in power. Sing the gospel in power. Contact the power to do the work of the ministry by spending adequate time in the Lord’s presence consistently. Your life won’t be the same.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your power in my life. Help me to know You more every day and do Your work always empowered by You. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
