“Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.” - Psalm 37:37 KJV
According to the Bible, a perfect man is a man who doesn’t stumble in word (James 3:2). Since Jesus commanded us to be perfect just as His Father in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48), there is grace in Christ to walk in perfection. Fortunately, some (maybe a few) Christians walk in this realm as their daily lifestyle; and just as the Psalmist says, we must mark those perfect people.
You’ll only know a man in Christ is perfect if he does what he says, even if there was a delay in his time of task accomplishment. You don’t need to be active in his life, but you must be his ardent follower if you want to observe him. Many people are so focused on what others do for them that they cannot simply identify and follow just one upright (one who walks in good morals) and perfect man. For me, I think it’s because people want what they can benefit from others instead of what they can learn from good people.
God didn’t give you leaders in Christ to only reap from their labours. He gave them to you to consider their ways of life and imitate their faith (Hebrews 13:7, 1 Corinthians 11:1). Is there any perfect man in Christ you admire? Mark that person and follow him well. It isn’t about tapping the digital “follow” button on his social media account, liking his social media posts, reading, or even listening to his Christ-centered content, even though all these are important (because they keep you connected to him). Instead, watch how he navigates his life with the Word of God as his lamp (Psalm 119:105). If you do thiyou’ll learn more from himore than his ordinary follower. May God help you.
You are a blessing.
