Remember your Leaders

“Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.” - Hebrews ‭13:7‬ ‭NIV

The word “remember” from the above Bible verse means to exercise the memory. Preachers and leaders are one of the most overlooked people in this world. I think it’s because many people haven’t experienced seeing people live by Bible standards in their lives. So they guess preachers are lazy thieves who’re after people’s money. However, it doesn’t matter how bad society has made an impression on preachers; we (believers) must remember them.

You can know a man but won’t remember him because you can overlook his presence. When we become familiar with people God uses to impact our lives, we fail to remember how hard they work to bring the Word to us frequently. You’re a follower of your leader in Christ. Hence, you must not be familiar with your leader because that person is greater than you. Remember that in John 13:16, Jesus said to his disciples that no servant is greater than his master. Meanwhile, these disciples were already followers of Christ.

As followers of Jesus, we must remember that the leaders God brings into our lives to impact us with His Word aren’t ordinary people. Good leaders are hard to find. Desist from joining conversations of people speaking against servants of God. Instead of criticising them for what they didn’t do, remember the anointing upon their lives. Pray for them to be strengthened and to continue delivering the message of Christ in a broken world.

You’re a blessing.
