[2] “Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.” – Isaiah 57:2 (NIV)
Do you know that there’s a reward for living uprightly before the Lord? Yes, there is, although many people don’t really value it in this generation. In Isaiah 57:2, the Bible explains one of the lasting benefits for those who walk uprightly. That is, they enter into peace and even find rest as they lie on their deathbed. Think about that!
The word “enter” in the Bible verse above means “come” or “go.” So, living in peace is a great reward for you if you dwell uprightly in life. Have you not realised that many people get into trouble only after they do bad things? Yes, upright living is meant for your own good, although not everyone will side with you in such a lifestyle. Abraham had to separate from Lot because of his intolerance of conflict among their herdsmen (see Genesis 13:7-9). He valued living uprightly before God, and peace was what he wanted.
You will never regret living well unto God all the days of your life. Because when you die today, your works will speak for you. Humans are complex, that is why relationships are also complex. In any way, talk well with people and prioritise doing the right thing always before the Lord.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for all You do for me. Help me to walk upright before You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
