[18] “If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.” – Romans 12:18 (NKJV)
Peace is a priceless virtue upheld in many countries. You are well aware that no country thrives without peace in the land. Look at how bad Ukraine has been since the war broke out between her and Russia. It’s terrible. God knows that when it comes to the peace of nations, little can people do as it is heavily dependent on government officials. So, the Bible encourages us to pray for kings and government authorities (see 1 Timothy 2:1-2). However, when it comes to peace in human relationships, we can do something about it.
In Romans 12:18, Paul, inspired by the Holy Ghost, says we should prioritise peace as we live with others. If nothing at all, I had a terrible experience in life years ago where I had several issues with one of my relatives I had to stay with for a while. When conflicts broke out due to misunderstandings, even minor ones, the atmosphere in the room just changed. Thank God that everything got resolved. Indeed, a lack of peace is detrimental to people.
Dear friend, God wants you to thrive, and peace plays an important role. Live in peace with others as far as it depends on you. Do your possible best to foster peace in your interpersonal relationships. It will help you stabilise your life. Don’t entertain conflicts amongst others.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to live in peace with others everywhere I go. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
