[2] “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,” – 2 Peter 1:2 (KJV)
Grace is the person of Jesus Christ (see John 1:14). So it’s not just a doctrine or a Bible theme used to preach. It’s the makeup of Jesus Christ. And because of this truth, the grace of God can’t be quantified in a believer’s life. Why? Because He who has the Son (Jesus) has the fullness of grace in him and eternal life (see 1 John 5:12).
Therefore, when the Apostle Peter wrote, “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you …” (2 Peter 1:2), he didn’t end there. He continued to show us how this multiplication would occur. That is, through the knowledge of God and of Jesus Jesus our Lord. So the more you know God and Jesus, the more grace you’ll walk in and more peace you’ll enjoy, even amid turmoils in this evil age.
Have you met someone who knows God so well, and although issues are happening, he’s as calm as if nothing concerns him? It’s not because he’s not affected. Instead, that person rests in his faith that Jesus can do all things. He only has to pray and let God work. How glorious is this life?
Maybe you’re reading this right now but don’t have the life I’m talking about. You have the opportunity to receive Jesus as Lord and personal saviour today. Secondly, you may be a Christian, but without a deep intimacy with Jesus. Come to Jesus; pursue a deeper intimacy with Him, and your life won’t be ordinary anymore.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to know You better each day so that I will also be a benefactor of those whom Your grace and peace get multiplied unto them in their lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
