[4] “Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” – Isaiah 46:4 (NIV)
I’m not that old (as of the time of this writing), but I have heard many health professionals lament the fact that many young people work tirelessly to get material possessions. After getting them, those same people’s health deteriorates as they grow older. And guess what? They use the same money they have toiled hard for during their youth to treat their sicknesses. Is that the kind of life God wants for humans? No! But that is the reality for many.
In Isaiah 46:4, God said clearly that He will sustain you even in your old age with grey hairs. He has promised to carry and rescue you from all forms of trouble. That is a promise He has made. But do you believe it? Even if you believe, are you conscious of this Word every day? Why do you think it’ll get worse with you as you grow old? God has not planned that for you.
However, the most important thing to do in life is to follow God’s direction. I tell you, it’s not easy to do that, but it’s always worth it. God will sustain you, so partner with Him to manifest His promise in your life by following His ways and taking care of yourself well. Remember never to give up on God.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your grace and peace in my life. Help me to live according to Your ways all the days of my life. I know that You will sustain me in the thin and thick of life. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
