Many Are the Plans in a Person’s Heart

[21] “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” – Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)

Several builders of organisations and corporations are good at planning and organising things around, which is a good thing. Because of that gift, they are able to do a lot for whatever organisation or business is in their care. And there are people who aren’t top leaders in organisations and workplaces, yet they plan how to handle their lives well. These are gifts from God for which we should ever be grateful unto Him. But God has higher ways of doing things that sometimes confound all the plans a person makes.

Proverbs 19:21 tells us that many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Ponder on this statement carefully for some minutes. Are you questioning why many ideas you’ve kept conceiving in your heart haven’t been turned into fruition? It is not because they aren’t good. But there’s a higher providence in God called God’s purpose for your life. That thing supersedes every plan you make. So, it is actually better to consult God to show you His plan for your life so you can use that revelation to make your plans, rather than planning and bringing it to God to validate it for you.

Whatever God does for you is for your good. Not all of your plans may come to fruition, no matter how well-organised your life is. But always trust God to make your life unfold in ever-growing beauty. Also, note that the scripture doesn’t discourage you from planning. Do it, and God will direct your steps.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your grace in my life. Cushion my life from any plan that doesn’t sync with Your plan for my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
