Let No Person Despise Your Youth

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” — I Timothy 4:12 NKJV

God created time, but it doesn’t limit Him. He doesn’t live in time, unlike humans. Hence, everything God does and builds is for eternal purposes. For example, He never created us to die. But because of the fall, physical death has come as a consequence; and even if that happens, we believers will still live again in eternity because of the victory of Jesus over satan concerning death on the cross (Hebrews 2:14-15).

Why am I saying all these things? God hasn’t put age limits for us to reach before seeing extraordinary manifestations of His Word in our lives. Instead, He has given us a responsibility to know Him through consistent fellowship in His presence.

God’s standards and principles aren’t a respecter of persons.

You can choose to live the supernatural in Christ now if you’re willing to pay the price of obtaining divine wisdom by reading Christ-centred resources, spending time with God, and practising the Word of faith.

What happens when a young person grabs this reality is that some older people in church start despising them. Many grown-ups who didn’t follow God well and probably wasted the days of their youth think the trend of wasteful living will affect the younger generation. Never believe that. Can I minister to you?

Let no person despise your youth as a Christian. Let your mind get preoccupied with the Father’s business. You’ll see that you’ll have no time to listen to critics.

God’s standards and principles aren’t a respecter of persons. Choose to sow in the Spirit to get precise and sound doctrine. Following that, apply what you learn from God’s Word.

Remember that if your predecessors failed to live like Jesus, you’re not obliged to follow that trend. Live with intentionality, knowing very well that the builder of your life is Jesus.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I receive grace to follow and serve you diligently. I choose to do what you’ve called me to accomplish and set an example for my generation. Help me, Lord!
