Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.” - Proverbs 4:26 NIV
One of the bad things I’ve seen manifest in many people’s lives now is their inability to count the cost involved when making decisions that’ll bring change in their lives. Today, it’s common for a person to get saved in a church and yet have no commitment to change their schedules (old ways of living) to put church meeting times in it.
According to Proverbs 4:26, every person, especially Christians, is to give careful thoughts to the paths of their feet. That implies it’s essential to watch your steps by counting the cost before making decisions, especially the major ones like following Christ, full-time ministry and marriage. If that doesn’t get done, then the commitment to stand firm during situations that arise later becomes difficult.
The Father knew that for Jesus to come into the world, He (Jesus) must die for each person. There’s no success without work and no result-generating decision without monitoring work to supervise its implementation. Don’t be a passive decision-maker who gets inspired by what you’ll gain without counting the cost of work and sacrifice to get tangible results. Walk in divine wisdom as you work.
You’re a blessing.
