[3] “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; [4] through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.” – Proverbs 24:3-4 (NIV)
What do you prioritise in anything you build? Is it people, wisdom, or love? Love is the greatest, no doubt about that. People are important in our lives, very good point. But the scriptures say that a house is built by wisdom, and through understanding, it is established. Well, this scripture is heavily related to building an awesome godly marital home. But I think it transcends beyond the home to wherever organisations are.
Being the top leader of our ministry for over half a decade now, I can testify that building a community of people who serve God and are inspired by a corporate vision requires so much divine wisdom. I heard one of James Clear’s leadership quotes from Pastor Craig Groeschel, which goes by the saying,
“You don’t rise to the level of your goals; you fall to the level of your systems. Goals don’t determine success, systems determine success.”
Did you read that carefully? If you’re going to build your home or organisation successfully, you must be determined to build systems and train people to handle those systems so that you’ll get vision-related results. But what you use to build those systems is wisdom. Understanding how what you’ve designed to work should function is what you need to establish what you’ve built.
Do you want your godly marriage not to merely be one of the numerous suffering marriages in this generation? Do you want your organisation to command global impact? Then don’t forget to invest in studying. Every leader must have a library of relevant resources needed for his journey.
Dear single, don’t say you don’t have a spouse yet, so you’ll not learn about marriage. Dear fiance, don’t just invest in planning your wedding day with your beloved. Pray, plan and gather enough wisdom on how to build your home. Dear organisational leader, don’t downplay sermons on leadership, lest it cost you your organisation.
Generally speaking, with whatever you do, go for wisdom to build it.
Prayer:
Father, create in me that passionate spirit to keep studying Your Word and any relevant material needed to build my home and also any organisation You’ve called me to build. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
