All Things Work Together for Your Good as a Lover of God

[28] “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

In life, many things happen. Some good, some quite unfortunate. But for many believers in Christ, it is surprising how many people question God when bad things happen to them. I may not know why they do that, but I think it’s due to wrong programming of the mind on how things are supposed to function when a person becomes a believer. Who told you that you would not encounter any atrocity in your life just because you signed up to follow Jesus? Check what happened to lovers of God in the Bible. Most of them didn’t have it all rosy, including rich men like Abraham, David and Job.

However, in Romans 8:28, the Bible says that all things work together for good for those who love God. Then, to those who are “the called” according to His purpose. In that “all things” are both good and bad things that happen in life. If you are a believer and got laid off, suffered a business setback or something bad happened in your family, you can lament for a while about the situation. But know that that happened for your good. So, instead of over-lamenting about the problem, go back to God for Him to show you your next step and follow it.

Your life will keep moving forward as the days go by. Suffering some setbacks may make you think that you are moving backwards. But what if I told you that those setbacks may be God’s setups for you to propel higher and faster? The race is not for the swift, so don’t entertain comparing your life to others. Run your race of faith with patience.
