By[11] “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. [12] He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” – 1 John 5:11-12 (NKJV)
When you think of eternal life, what comes to mind? Is it that glorious life in Christ you ever dream of, or is it about knowing Jesus? 1 John 5:11-12 tells us that eternal life is in Jesus and that this life has been given to us by God through Him. So here’s a simple math to understand this. Jesus has eternal life, so when He saves you and His Spirit comes to dwell in you (see Romans 8:9), you get access to this life.
It is in eternal life you’ll get the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to reign in life (see Romans 5:17). Don’t go all out chasing the things of the world without paying attention to Jesus and letting Him guide you. No! Don’t do that. God didn’t send you here to amass wealth. He sent you here on purpose for a purpose, which is why He gives you eternal life and divine empowerment to fulfil those prophecies.
Many people have sailed through life without the Son – Jesus. Such people can get all the millions they ever want, fill their bank accounts with endless cash and even live in the extremest luxury. Unfortunately, they aren’t aware that hell awaits those who die but are not saved. Do not forget that there is life after death. Seek Jesus and live.
