[17] “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)” – Romans 5:17 (NKJV)
In my few years in this walk of faith (eight years, as of the time of this writing), I’ve observed that nobody wants to end up small in life. Everybody, including the unbeliever, strives to reach a high feat in life. And having such a desire in you isn’t evil. In fact, it is good because it’ll help you not to settle for less.
Unfortunately, many people are not willing to pay the price to reach the high feat of life they desire. So they end up crowning at the base and blame their misfortunes on government system failures, lack of resources or insufficient salaries. Well, while all these factors can contribute to a person not attaining a high feat in life, they aren’t enough excuses before God. You may ask why.
First, God didn’t send us on this earth to amass wealth for ourselves. Secondly, what we need to reign in life is in Christ, not in the world. And what are they? The abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. You cannot gain any of these if you’re an unbeliever. But why?
1. The unbeliever isn’t righteous because he is in sin.
2. Having an abundance of grace is a result of how close you are to God and how well you live according to His ways.
Listen! The world doesn’t have anything good to offer you. Even if it promises you something great, it will be short-lived. Let God direct you in all your ways.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your provision of grace in abundance and the gift of righteousness in my life. Help me to prioritise living according to Your ways. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
