In a world that lies in wickedness (see 1 John 5:19), thriving in life has been hard for many. Several university graduates are currently unemployed. Millions of job seekers flood job boards daily to submit applications, hoping they’ll be called upon. What about those having jobs and still can’t make ends meet? Life is really a struggle for many in this generation. But the Bible says there is life in the way of righteousness, and in its pathway, there is no death. Let’s look into this.
The word “life”, as used in Proverbs 12:28, doesn’t refer to a human having a physical life. It means thriving. Therefore, God’s Word is saying that in the way of righteousness, thriving, which is better than surviving, is guaranteed. Yes, your life as a child of God may not be reflecting this truth in scripture. But if you keep walking in the way of righteousness, conscious of living a blameless life before God, He will build your life to this height and beyond.
God isn’t a selfish God, so He isn’t concerned with providing needs for only you to survive. He wants to lavish you with many benefits, large enough to help others. So when you ask Him to supply you with provision, ask big. Always do things that honour God and worry less about the immediate outcomes in your life. God is faithful to His Word. He won’t put you to shame.
