Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” — Genesis 1:26 NKJV
In computer science, there’s a term called “backend,” which I interpret in natural English as “behind-the-scenes.” All the websites, applications, and other technological innovations can work because of the computer codes that power them, even though end-users don’t see them. The average human does not know this even though his technical needs get met without struggle. Now that is applicable in Christ.
God does so many things for us behind the scenes. In other words, He does amazing things for us without our knowledge, including His plans. Look at what the Elohim said before creating man: “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
From this scripture, it implies God stated the purpose of creating man before actualizing His plan; and that is, to have dominion over the world, not over people. So God had backend structures (behind-the-scenes purposeful thoughts about man) set in place for men before bringing His idea of creating them to fruition.
Now, if the all-knowing God plans, executes His plans, and supervises its sustenance, how much more should we? We’re not all-knowing, but the Holy Spirit is here to show us what God has ahead of us. Through this, we can plan ahead of time, based on His counsel and revelation.
One reason why God never fails is because of the efficient spiritual systems built up in heaven to supervise the entire execution of His plan concerning our lives without leaving anything unattended.
Do you want to excel in anything you’re doing? Don’t just execute your ideas. Have backend structures set in place, even before beginning to pursue their fulfilment. Often, it’s the work that gets done behind the scenes that leads to the results everyone sees.
Pray to allow God to scan those ideas. Let Him choose the ones you can do for now and leave out the irrelevant ones. Then after that, depend on Him to grace you with wisdom to plan. When all these things are said and done, you begin to check how to ensure there’ll be the sustenance of what God has told you to do even as you’re executing the plan.
You may skip the first two steps, but if you miss the third one (building a system to maintain sustainability), what you start won’t last long because there’ll be inconsistency. Avoid beginning to build without counting the cost. If you do, you’ll make people disgrace you when you become inconsistent.
It’s my prayer God loads you with divine enablement not just to start His work but to keep it growing and effectively sustained until the coming of Jesus. Amen!
You’re a blessing.
