[1] “I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go into the house of the LORD.”
[2] Our feet have been standing
Within your gates, O Jerusalem!” – Psalms 122:1-2 (NKJV)
Church is an awesome place to be, if not any day, at least Sunday. Unfortunately, many people have problems with church. Several people have been hurt and battled with broken-up promises, especially marriage proposals, and others have also taken advantage of other’s generosity. You may have been hurt. But I want to ask you a question. Are you happy to go to church?
David said in Psalms 122:1-2 that he was glad when they said unto him, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.” He knew how pleasurable it was to be there, even though there were issues in his kingdom and family matters to settle. Was there a perfect church in David’s time? Certainly not! Some people served in God’s house and even killed others, like Joab. And even more, the Holy Spirit wasn’t dwelling in them during that time. How much more today? We, believers, have the gift of the Spirit in us, yet some don’t want to go to church in joy.
Are you letting what you’re going through or something unfortunate that happened to you to overshadow the joy of God’s presence in your life? Repent, friend. Look; help me save you from trouble.
In 2 Timothy 3:1-5, Paul listed seventeen bad behaviours men will show to one another in the last days. Commit them to memory and live a well-guarded lifestyle. For example, don’t expect a “Thank you” note from a friend you helped because it is written that men will be ungrateful in the last days (see 2 Timothy 3:2). When you have this in mind, whether the person thanked you for your good deed or not, it won’t bother you.
It’s time believers arise to live by the principles of God’s Word in all fierceness!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your Word so sweet and rich in my life. Help me to maintain the joy of Your presence in my life, forgiving undeserving people and looking forward to fulfilling what You’ve called me to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
