[14] “But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,” – 2 Timothy 3:14 (NKJV)
Real good leaders in Christ are scarce in this generation. Many people are just doing things to survive and not those that will outlive their existence, geared towards impacting generations unborn. That has made the concept of leadership so vague in many places, organisations and ministries. Must you follow this trend? Of course not!
Paul told young pastor Timothy to continue in the things he has learned and been assured from him. In fact, when Paul wrote this, he was an aged minister. So he was speaking, both from a realm of deep intimacy with Jesus and decades of experience in ministry. If it were you that you received this advice, wouldn’t you think its worth is unquantifiable? It is!
If you don’t have a spiritual leader in your life who’s genuinely interested in your well-being, please get one. Submit yourself to him and let him teach you various things in scripture. That will save you from so much trouble in life because his impact on your life will help and prevent you from making costly and avoidable mistakes.
Hold on to the truth your leader in Christ taught you. For a time will come that very truth will be subjected to severe attacks from people in the world who don’t treasure the gospel. The Lord be with you and strengthen you mightily for the cause of the gospel.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for the solidity of Your truth in my life. I pray for tenacity to hold on to them at heart, even in this cruel world. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
