How to Walk in Fresh Revelation Every Day

What is revelation? That is a common word. Right? Well, “revelation,” as coined from the root word “reveal,” means to disclose, uncover and, to some extent, expose. Revelation also has more different meanings. For the purpose of this article, let us define it as “a sudden insight or understanding of something previously unknown or mysterious.”

The world we walk and live in has a lot of hidden natural operations. In Christ, there are mysteries hidden for us to discover in the Word to find out and live the victorious Christian life. Ignorance of them will often lead to frustrations and despair later in life. Have you ever gotten lost because you walked somewhere you know nothing about? Yes, that is how a person’s life is without revelation.

The Bible speaks of “…perishing without vision (foresight)” in Proverbs 29:18. Do you know why? You always lose focus and a sense of direction if you are not constantly exposed to where you are going. Hence revelation is needed in whatever you do as a child of God.

You always lose focus and a sense of direction if you are not constantly exposed to where you are going.

Do you now see how important it is to walk in fresh revelations from God every day? Walking in revelations from God every day helps you to stay connected to God. You also get exposed to His will and plans for us. Therefore, you’ll not veer off your divine purpose. You will be in constant unity with Him because you’ll walk in His will and desire for your life.

If only you walk in past revelations, you’ll miss what He has for us today. His mercies are new every morning, and so are His plans for us every day. Again, walking in fresh revelations from Him every day, not only builds your intimacy with Him but also keeps you safe and sound. Just see how protected you are walking every day with an all-knowing God. Even before danger and the traps come, you are already aware. That is only possible if you approach Him every day for revelation.

I believe you really desire to walk in these fresh revelations every day. Right? Well, here is how you can do that;

1. Take your morning devotion seriously:

Morning devotion is that time of the morning devotion you dedicate to having quality time with the Holy Spirit before you step out for that day. During that time, you pray and read your Bibles and other Christian books and articles. Others prefer to sing songs and hymns as well. Then comes the most significant time of meditation. That is when you quietly reflect on what you have read. During meditation, the Holy Spirit begins to speak to you. He begins to give you insights and directions for your day and the week ahead. For us believers, encountering Jesus in the morning is paramount to starting each day with Him in focus.

In Mark 1:35-37, the Bible elaborates on how Jesus would isolate himself and go to the mountains to pray very early in the morning. He prayed into His day and sought for the will of the Father for that day. No wonder He usually came down in power and might that demons could not stand His presence. Do you want to start your day powerfully as you walk in fresh revelations from God? Do not skip morning devotions.

2. Devote yourself to prayer

Prayer, as defined by a layman, is the communication between a man and God. The key term here is communication. What makes prayer a form of communication? Now, you must know that for communication to be effective, there should be a sender, a message, a receiver and feedback. So, in communicating with God, we not only present our petitions to Him, but He also replies to us. He gives us responses and feedback. He gives provisions in times of wants and directions in times of despair.

It does not matter when and where you are stuck. Just go to God in prayer. Approach Him whenever the need is for a direction. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “pray without ceasing.” Pray continuously. Do not stop talking to God. By prayer, the Lord speaks and directs your steps and actions in your daily life.

Paul admonished the Colossians to “Persevere in prayer, and be alert in it with thanksgiving” (see Colossians 4:2). Being alert in prayer makes you sharp and your receptive senses activated in order to be tuned to the frequencies of the heavenly radar, that is entirely to make you hear when and what God speaks. Walking in fresh revelations every day is a subset of your devotion to prayer.

3. Listen to ministrations

Romans 10:17 (KJV) says,

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”

In other words, when you listen to the word of God being preached and taught, it leads to acquiring more faith and spiritual understanding. As you listen to and learn from the Word of God, you’ll receive fresh revelations from Him.

Many examples in the scriptures are direct examples of what you might be going through presently. When you pay heed and listen attentively to the Word of God being ministered unto you, you’ll get revelations on how the Lord help you to overcome their issues and face their days.

Forsake not the assembly of the saints

Be guided by your choices and actions as you walk with the Lord. Forsake not the assembly of the saints. The Lord might have a word for you with someone. Be encouraged and counselled when you meet and fellowship with our fellow brethren. These counsels will enable you to manoeuvre your way throughout your days.

Shalom!
