A Gentle Answer Turns Away Wrath

[1] “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” – Proverbs 15:1 (NIV)

Have you ever had an argument with people before? What made it so heated? The exchange of harsh words. Right? So, if both parties turned to settling the issue using gentle words, do you think that argument would have happened? No! That is a confirmation of what the scripture says in Proverbs 15:1 that a gentle answer turns away wrath.

You don’t need to reply to people in an angry tone, no matter what they have done to you. In fact, it is better to wait to calm down before responding to such people. But this thing I am saying is increasingly becoming hard. Why? Because the world is becoming more technological, many are nurturing their impatience by demanding faster responses to messages.

Dear one, don’t spoil what God has blessed you with by your harsh words. Is it marriage? Learn to speak to your spouse well. Is it your job? Relate well with your colleagues and managers. Check the words you say, with or without the presence of people around you.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your love in my life. Help me to speak to the people You’ve blessed me with well. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
