Watch Yourself as You Help Others Recover from Sin

According to Galatians 6:1, when you, as a child of God, catch someone involved in sin, you are required to restore the person in the spirit of gentleness. However, there is a following caution in that same scripture: It says that you must watch yourself, lest you also get tempted by the same sin you’re helping that fellow to recover from.

Mortify the Deeds of the Flesh

The Bible urges believers to mortify the deeds of the flesh, emphasising that the flesh profits nothing (John 6:63) and that carnal-mindedness leads to death (Romans 8:6). By prioritizing spiritual growth through the Word, prayer, and worship, we Christians can cultivate their spirit, allowing it to bear good fruit and overcome the flesh’s temptations.

A Little Yeast Works Through the Whole Dough

Be determined not to get close to things and areas that will trigger any form of sin. If it’s sexual immorality, run from it. Don’t say that you have power over it, so you’re going to test it. No! God wants you to be so free and focused on your divine mandate that He doesn’t want you to add struggles with sin in your life.

How to Conquer the Lust of the Flesh

As a believer, you are already in the Spirit (see Romans 8:9). You got translated into the Spirit the moment you were saved. But even though that’s your spiritual position, walking in that realm requires intentional followership of the Word and Spirit’s leading in your life.

You Have Died to Sin

When the devil tempts you and tries to make sin enticing to you in your mind, you must rise quickly to resist him steadfastly in the faith. Why? Because he is after awakening your sinful flesh (which God had put to death) and also misleading you away from God’s ways to the way of death(destruction).

Love Does Not Keep Record of Wrongs

The Bible says clearly in 1 Corinthians 13:5 that love keeps no record of wrongs. When you read the New King James Version of that part of the scripture, it uses “think no evil” in place of “keeps no record of wrongs.” What does that mean? It implies that when you keep remembering the offences your offenders do to you, the spirit of vengeance will keep bombarding your mind with evil things to do to pay back evil to your offenders. Think about that for a moment!

God Will Bring You into Judgment

Solomon gave simple advice to all young people in Ecclesiastes 11:9. He said that as a young person, just be happy and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and chase after what you see. But while doing all these things, know that God will bring you into judgment.

Abstain from Fornication

As a child of God, know that the Holy Spirit is inside you. Your body is His temple (see 1 Corinthians 6:19). That means, with His help, you can devise ways and means to control your body in sanctification (consecration or purity of your heart and life) and honour (value).
