One of my favourite scriptures anytime I study and help people battling with secret sins is Romans 13:14. It says believers should put on the Lord Jesus (in consciousness) and make no provision for the flesh. It might look like a short Bible verse, but I tell you, it addresses a very serious issue many people are facing.
Let me tell you something about the devil. He usually comes to tempt you when you aren’t doing anything productive. Even when you are tired, unemployed or bored, he can suggest bad things in your life to do just to engage you. For example, research reveals that many people watch porn between the hours of 9 pm and midnight. But why? Because that is the time people are meant to sleep. But feeling bored and checking up on their phones, they do so. It is the devil behind such things.
As a believer, you have to be smarter than the devil. You must be intentional about sealing every area of your life with Christ, so you give no space to the enemy. Sometimes, side gigs to make you more busy solve this issue. But the ultimate solution is putting on Christ. Once you forget to do that, you give the devil space to exploit your time. Make no provisions for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. Whatever you have to get rid of in order to focus on your journey with the Lord, do it. Don’t wait another day for this!
