Put On Christ

“Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.” — Romans 13:14 NIV

I read from one of Myles Munroe’s books that “man is like an egg in boiling water. You’ll not know how strong he is until he gets pressured.”

I see this to be true in the lives of many, especially students who learn under pressure when an exam is approaching.

If every Christian would live each day with eternity in mind, many of the excuses we give when approaching kingdom tasks won’t be a part of our lives. That was the same thing Apostle Paul was communicating to the Roman church, which I believe it’s for us too.

Paul told the Roman church that the second coming of Christ is so near that they ought to put off all fleshly desires and live unto God with all consciousness. In other words, he wanted them to sense the nearness of the second coming of Jesus, leading them to have a change of heart from lukewarm Christian living to firebrand one whereby each child of God has put on Christ in all endeavours of life.

Check your life? Is Christ really the Lord over all aspects of life? It’s one thing to call Jesus your Lord and yet another to let Him become Lord over every area of your life.

I do not want to believe that your life is as perfect as God wants you to live by the standards of the Word. However, there is grace to be perfect, just as our heavenly Father is perfect. To make that grace activated in your life, make a conscious decision to put on Christ in individual areas of your life such as finances, education, family, friends, and even workplaces.

Jesus has and will always be the standard. Look unto Him.

You’re a blessing.
