No Peace for the Wicked

[21] “There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.” – Isaiah 57:21 (NIV)

I’m not old (as at the time of this writing), but I have seen wicked people suffer very harshly for their evil deeds. One time, I saw on the news how one thief was almost lynched to death because of a few domestic things he stole in a village. How sad? If that same guy had followed God’s ways, he wouldn’t have had this struggle. But he did. Hmm.

I’ve observed how powerful God’s principles are for a long time, and I have realised that each one of them is for our own protection. For example, God’s word forbids a child of God from engaging in premarital sex or adultery. Breaching this divine law exposes a person to diverse consequences – from sexually transmitted infections to breach of marital trust and more. I once read a story of how one married man slept with a young girl and got gonorrhoea. The man was older, and his wife liked asking him for sex. But because of his infidelity and sickness, he placed himself in trouble because he didn’t want his wife also to get infected with gonorrhoea. Look at that!

Never expect godly results after breaching God’s principles. Things don’t work like that. For the wicked people, God’s Word says there’s no peace for them. So, if they want to enjoy peace, they have to stop their evil deeds. And for that to also happen, they must be born again. Jesus still saves and loves people. Come to Him, and He will rewrite your story.

Prayer:

Lord, I repent of evil deeds I’ve committed against anybody in my life. Reshape my life according to Your will, oh God. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
