Joshua 1:8 (KJV/NKJV) says “… meditate IN the Word,” not “meditate ON the Word.” When you meditate in the Word, you’re focused on getting the intent of the writer (who was led by the Holy Spirit). But meditating ON the Word, you view it with your own understanding, which can lead to wrong scriptural interpretation. Please beware of it!
God is so generous. He has made the dimension of grace responsible for administering salvation to the lost available to all men.
Nothing in this world can satisfy the spiritual hunger God has deeply fixed in the hearts of men to seek Him (see Ecclesiastes 3:11). That is why God made Jesus the head over all things for you – his church.
God is good. Even though He’s your Father and Master, He is loving and caring. He knows sin can destroy you. That’s why He has provided whatever you need to live in abstinence to it. Use that privilege by the empowerment of the Spirit.
It’s easy to find faults and mistakes in others’ lives, but it’s much harder to see our own wrongdoings. As Christians, we are called to love our neighbours and to live a humble life that will make people see Christ in us. That includes avoiding judgment and condemnation of others.
There are so many attractive things in the world that the enemy shows you to tempt your commitment to the Lord. But hold on firmly to eternal life; for God knows what’s ahead of you. And I pray He enlightens your mind to always see ahead before making generational decisions today. Amen!
Every teacher of the Word must live by example because both God and people are watching their lives. For doctrine is contagious.
God encourages us to get wisdom (see Proverbs 4:7). Because He knows when divine wisdom is available in the mind of His children, they’ll live unto Him and keep their tongues in check, which will, in turn, help keep their whole body in check.
Harbouring offences in your heart to the point that they affect your actions would make you live a contradictory life. Why? Because the Sprit of God dwells in it. That’s why the wrath of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.
God is One but multifaceted in functionality. He does many things at the same time. That’s why He didn’t add a third word to the ‘I Am’ identity He revealed to Moses.
Faith isn’t a confident expectation that God will do something He said He’d do today in the future. That is trusting God to fulfil a vision He has shown you, and it requires your firm stance in the Word, hope and patience. But for faith, it’s taking God at His Word no matter the situations that speak against it.
Having been to countless church services in many places, I’ve seen people open their eyes to pray, and some opt to close their eyes to pray. But the question is, “As children of God, should we necessarily close our eyes when praying?” You may say “yes,” and another person reading this now may say “no.” None of them is wrong because there’s no particular Bible verse that condemns closing or opening the eyes during prayer.
