Your Steps Are Directed by the Lord

[24] “A person’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand their own way?” – Proverbs 20:24 (NIV)

I quite remember a school teacher asking some children who they wanted to become in future. This was years ago when I was a little child. Some said they wanted to be doctors. Others said engineers, teachers, and many more career areas. It’s been years since that happened, and I can tell you that many of those career areas my colleagues said are not what they actively pursue today. What happened? Knowledge increased, and they discovered more fulfilling life journeys to branch to, which is fine.

Proverbs 20:24 says that a person’s steps are directed by the Lord. Because of that, it is hard for humans to understand their own way. In other words, you cannot completely figure out your entire life trajectory because God will never reveal it to you. He can show you the destination, but will never show you the definite trajectory to that realm of life. Because of this reality, everyone, regardless of background, must know the Lord intimately. Why? Through consistent fellowship with the Lord, people will know which next steps to take in their individual faith journey.

Dear one, your steps are directed by the Lord. Stop thinking you are a mistake, despite all the mistakes you have ever made or are about to make. However, to avoid making some things God has promised in your life last longer than expected, be prayerful and attentive to hear His directions in your life.
