[7] “Therefore I will look to the LORD;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me. [8] Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The LORD will be a light to me.” – Micah 7:7-8 (NKJV)
At the time of this writing, I am barely in my early twenties. Even though I am young, I’ve encountered people whose thoughts are bent on only evil things. No matter how many good things I or others do for such people, they tend to think more about negative things. It’s something I found it hard to believe. However, over time, I understood that man without God is under the control of the god of this world – the enemy. And today, because of increased privacy, even digitally, it’s very hard to point out to people that they are your enemies. Everything they do is in secret. They laugh at you when things go wrong and fail to wish you well. What a tragedy!
As a child of God, don’t sign up for this lifestyle. As much as God is in the process of transforming your mind, you shouldn’t be thinking evil of people. And if you know that the people surrounding you aren’t for what God has called you to do, then it’s time to reduce their closeness to you. Why? Because you need like-minded brethren around you to cheer you on.
Make what Prophet Micah said in Micah 7:7-8 your daily testimony. When things get tough in your life, remember that Jesus is with you. He’s the only person who promised He will never leave nor forsake you (see Matthew 18:20, Hebrews 13:5). You don’t need to stay in your fallen state. You shall rise again by His help. And when people are trolling you for any difficulty you’re going through, know that the Lord won’t cause you to be ashamed.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to rise again when I fall or in difficulty. Please help me to complete my faith journey strong. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
