[20] “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” – Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)
I grew up being taught to embrace mediocrity as a believer. I heard people using the scenario in the Word where Jesus told a rich young ruler to sell his possessions to follow Him as a reference point to teach that it’s okay to be poor as a Christian. Thank God that the knowledge of His Word has increased in this generation. If not at all, I can testify that the Holy Spirit has done great work teaching me His Word in my life for the past eight years. Hallelujah!
One day, when I read Ephesians 3:20, I was shocked by what I saw. The scripture says God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or think. That means my imagination concerning anything I ask God to do in my life is even too small compared to what He intends to do in my life. Oh, my goodness!
Imagining great things to pray to God about isn’t bad. At least, it’ll create an expectation in your spirit. But you’ll do yourself great harm if you limit your mind to what you’re expecting God to do. Believe in God for big things. Don’t think like a pauper when God has ordained you to do big things for His name’s sake in this world. Pay the price to rise higher in your calling.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your grace. I trust You and I know that You can do big things beyond my imagination. Thank You for Your support in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
