“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,”— Ephesians 3:20 NKJV
As humans, we always have expectations of everything we get involved in. A university student has an expectation of graduating after completing his course. A pregnant mother expects to deliver her baby after nine months. Expectations are common, and they usually drive us to set some goals. But do you know that God can exceed your expectations?
In Ephesians 3:20, one of Paul’s concluding exhortations in a part of the letter to the Ephesian church, it’s written that there’s a God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or even think. But by what means does he do this? – According to the power at work in you. And what’s that power? It’s the same power that raised Jesus from the dead – the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10, Romans 8:11). That power lives in you ever since you got saved (John 1:12).
God’s power at work in you is more efficient than your thoughts and words.

Therefore, you have no excuse to belittle the God in you by narrow expectations. What you desperately desire, whether a job, car, marriage partner, or admission, name it yourself – God can do it beyond your expectations. Why? Because His power at work in you is more efficient than your thoughts and words.
Believe Him to get a big catch for what you want, not just a normal one. Peter never thought Jesus would perform a miracle beyond his expectation – catching so numerous fish that his net was breaking. But Jesus did it, even meeting Peter for the first time (Luke 5:4-8). How much more you, a child of God, who belongs to His household?
Don’t limit God, but obey Him when He instructs you to do something. Peter’s complaints never solved his problem; his obedience ended him up seeing that big catch he had never experienced in his career.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I believe strongly, that You’ll exceed my expectations in everything I ask or think of getting. I refuse to limit you because of my limited understanding. But give me the wisdom to manage my miracle when it blows up in my life. Amen!
