“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,” — Ephesians 2:19 NKJV
Anytime I feel like going to my parent’s house, I don’t have to seek permission. I only have to tell them I’m coming. Why? Because I’ve been a member of that household all my life. It’s only travel and education that have taken me out of there.
In the same way, when Jesus saved you, He didn’t isolate you. No! He placed you in a family – the worldwide family of believers in Christ, especially those in your local church. And because of their presence in your life, you ought to know and experience that you belong to Christ Jesus. Therefore, you’re a member of God’s household.
Sometimes, the most troubling thing in a person’s life, especially a child, is a lack of belonging to a home or a parent’s affection. God knows how imperfect many parents are to their children. That’s why He’s perfect, but we’re not, although He desires us to be so (Matthew 5:48). However, He doesn’t make you belong to His family without taking good care of you and being affectionate to you.
People may have disappointed you and said all kinds of things against you, even things against you. But the God who loved you while you were dead in sins and chose to send His Son to die for you. You have a loving Father. Believe in Him today because no matter how many times you mess up life, He will by no means cast you out (John 6:37).

Prayer
Father, thank You for welcoming me into Your household since I got saved. I know that no matter how many times I mess up, You’ll still continue to love and care for me. I affirm this Truth in the Spirit that I belong to Your household. Therefore, I associate with like-minded people who know You because we’re a spiritual family. Thank you, Jesus. Amen!
