God is With You

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” — Psalms 23:4 NKJV

God has promised never to leave nor forsake us (see Hebrews 13:5). But sometimes, we doubt that He’s with us. This subtle lie usually resurfaces when we go through tough seasons in our lives, where we feel lonely and hopeless when no comforter is around. Sometimes, people, especially the unbelievers, can’t bear this pain, so they eventually battle suicidal thoughts. Child of God, I want to encourage you today that God is with you. He’ll never leave nor forsake you.

David said in Psalm 23:4 that even though he walks through the valley of the shadow of death, he’ll not fear evil because he knows God is with him. Notice that he didn’t say, “…even though I walk ‘to’ the valley of the shadow of death.” Why? — Because the man of God understood that it’s apparent that life issues are bound to come and must be faced. However, once he’s conscious that God is with him, that’s enough to comfort him.

Maybe there’s no person in your biological family to teach you God’s ways or say words of comfort to you when you encounter life issues. I want to tell you that be intentional about putting God first in all things, like how David did it (see Psalm 16:8). Hang on to His promise that He’s with you no matter the storms of life (see Isaiah 43:2).

If you remain conscious of this truth, you’ll always come through your situations better than before.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Lord, I choose to treasure Your Word above my emotions. Help me stay conscious of the truth that You’re with me always and everywhere I go. Amen!
