[29] “And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” – Galatians 3:29 (KJV)
God promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations. That promise was to him and his seed. But many people have regarded what God said concerning “seed” as Isaac instead of Christ, making the layman think that the children of God are only those of Israeli descent. Today, it’s still evident that the native Israelites still have God as their defender, but not as Lord, until each person accepts Jesus as Lord and personal saviour.
According to Galatians 3:29, the Bible says if you belong to Christ, then you’re Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise. That implies that once you have Christ, you qualify to partake in all the Abrahamic blessings of the covenant. So, you are a child of the promise.
I want to ask you a question. Have you seen a rich man’s child who knows that his father has willed everything for him and is fighting to claim inheritance assets? Under normal circumstances, it’s a no. Why? Because that child knows what is his and doesn’t need to fight to possess it once his father dies. However, if the child starts to fight, it’s because some people are trying to sabotage the father’s will in order to deny him full ownership. In Christ, this is what’s happening.
Because many Christians don’t sit down to study the Bible and know what God’s Word says about them, they don’t see how blessed God has made them. That is why so many believers are crowned at the base of life. Please, your portion of the Abrahamic blessings is so abundant that you cannot settle for less. Keep praying for God to enlarge your vision as you work towards fulfilling your divine mandate.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to perceive the great things You have planned for me to do and see in my walk in You. Never make me settle for anything less than what You promised me. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
