“Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.” — Proverbs 15:22 KJV
Have you ever heard people say, “man has plans, but it’s left with the money?” Well, I do. Sometimes, I think about how handicapped these people are to see their ideas come to fruition because of a lack of provision.
However, when I read Proverbs 15:22, Solomon never mentioned that lack of provision is the reason why plans fail (purposes are disappointed). He said the number one need for every plan to be successful (or become established) is counsel.
The word “counsel” in the above verse means secret. That implies that for every plan to become established strongly, the vision career must possess an undisclosed knowledge to sustain it. Failure to understand this will result in plans becoming frustrated over time. And this explains why several people begin business well and end up poor.
Nothing sustains itself. It’s divine wisdom that upholds all things. Talk about marriage, ministry, money, et cetera. You must understand how things work. It’s not just about getting that idea on paper. It is about knowing how to work it out to see it become sustained for long. And fortunately, God is the giver of wisdom.
Draw near unto God and ask for the grace to stay intimate with what God has called you to do.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
God, connect me to the right people to counsel me and help establish the plans You keep nourishing my mind. Let nothing I touch fall to the ground. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
