[15] “but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ” – Ephesians 4:15 (NKJV)
There is a saying that goes, “Truth hurts when spoken plainly.” Many people don’t like to hear the truth about their own lives, even though they do wrong things that ought to be confronted. That is why many people hate accountability, practising the blame game for whatever they have done in times past.
Can I tell you something? It is good to own your actions, especially as a leader. The Bible says in Proverbs 12:1 that he who hates correction is stupid. But why? Because correction is a way God uses to improve your life, even though it is painful. People don’t really change until something hard hits them that propels them to change.
Dear married one, speak the truth in love to your spouse to save your marriage. Dear employee going through tough times because your boss isn’t treating you or others well, speak the truth in love to him without being afraid. If you have the power, speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. There are many people suffering without having a voice. Use your position of influence to help them.
Lastly, focus on growth as God purges you of any kind of filth. Because of a truth, growth is sometimes painful to embrace, although it has a great benefit to bring to your life.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your corrections in my life anytime I do something wrong. May I never lose track of Your providential way in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
