“And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” — John 1:5 NKJV
John 1:1-5 gives a lot of descriptions of Jesus. And one is the characteristics the Apostle John wrote about is that Jesus, being the light of the world, “shines in the darkness.” In other words, though the world was full of spiritual darkness as the devil had blinded people’s eyes from seeing God’s glory revealed through Jesus to them (1 Corinthians 4:4), Jesus shone in those dark ages. And today, He’s still shining in the hearts of people who’re saved.
If you’re born again, you’re the light of the world because Christ is in you (Matthew 5:14). That means, wherever you go, you must bring light to people sitting in darkness and enslaved by sinful desires. So as a minister of Christ, people from the world must not impact you; instead, you must influence them for Jesus.
Arise and shine, friend! Sustain your godly character, and keep upholding the standards of God’s life wherever you go despite unfortunate circumstances.
If opposition rises against you for living unto God and obeying His Word, remember that God is for you (Romans 8:31). He has not and will never leave you. He knows how to keep your hands and feet from evil people and their ways. Follow Him wholeheartedly because your journey in His life will never end up a failure. Amen.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Oh God, I thank you for staying faithful to Your promise that you’ll never leave nor forsake me. Wherever there’s mismanagement and disorder, give me divine wisdom to be a solution to it unto your glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
