[5] “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” – Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)
I find Hebrews 13:5 to be one of my favourite scriptures regarding encouragement. Have you been in a situation where you feel like you don’t have enough, probably because you could hardly make ends meet? That’s when you’ll appreciate this scripture well. Many people are enduring hardship and don’t even know what to do. So, guess what? They covet what others have, which isn’t good.
The Bible says in Hebrews 13:5 that as a believer, you shouldn’t let covetousness be in your conversations, and as such, you should be content with what you have. Why? Because God will never leave nor forsake you. That means that God being with you is more precious than anything you can ever have.
Yes, it’s challenging to live in hardship. Being from Ghana, I have seen several families struggle to make ends meet. So, I know what it means to live seeing others enjoy what you wish to have. But I want to encourage you not to lose hope in the Lord and learn to be patient so that God can lift you. You may not have everything you want today, and as your income increases, so does what you need to use money for. Enjoy life now with the little you have because if God is with you, your situation won’t be like this forever. Be encouraged.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your provision in my life. Help me to anchor my hope in You as I live to fulfil what You have said concerning my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
