[27] “It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young.” — Lamentations 3:27 NIV
The robust group of people in this world are young people. They are full of energy and strength. Yet, they can use it for God’s work or the evil works of the devil in time.
When I read Lamentations 3:27, I was shocked by what was written there. The Prophet Jeremiah, by inspiration of the Spirit of God, says, “It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young.”
What’s a yoke? It simply means a link. Now, God’s Word says that for young men (not gender-related), it’s good to bear the yoke. That yoke represents the burdens of the Lord in the heart. It’s easy and light because of the empowerment of grace upon it. But you can only bear it when you come to Jesus.
In Matthew 11:29 NIV, Jesus said,
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
You’ll only have the best of life when you live it fulfilling your divine assignment in the scope of Jesus’ mission on Earth, which comes as a yoke upon you when you approach Jesus.
We live in an evil age, and too many things compete for human attention. Bear the yoke of Jesus while you’re young by committing to kingdom service. And you’ll never be disadvantaged in life.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the divine empowerment to bear the yoke of Jesus’ mission while I’m still young in You. With joy, I draw from the wells of my salvation as I serve you by grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
