[43] “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. [44] Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. [45] Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.” – Matthew 12:43-45 (NKJV)
While I haven’t been in the deliverance ministry for long, my local church pastor has been in it for many years. Anytime God uses him to deliver someone from demonic oppression, he makes sure that such a person becomes regular in church so that the person can receive ministry. So, I analysed why he did that. Upon studying the scriptures, I got the answer, which I want to share with you today.
Jesus taught that the deliverance of an oppressed person can worsen if that person fails to occupy one’s inner man with God’s substance. Anytime a person is delivered, demons are sacked away from the person’s life, but God doesn’t automatically fill the void. It is the responsibility of the delivered person to get preoccupied with God’s substance (Word) for that space to be filled.
The devil likes using spaces. That is why he gives idle people evil ideas to manipulate their lives. Give no space to the devil. Even if you are enjoying some free time moments, let it honour God. And you can do that so easily when the Word dwells in your heart so richly. Occupy your inner man with God’s substance, dear one, and make no provisions for the flesh.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your Word, which is so rich in my heart. Help me to love You more every day. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
