Never Underestimate the Power of God’s Still Small Voice

[30] Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? [31] It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. [32] Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” — Mark 4:30-32 NIV

Jesus used so many parables to describe God’s kingdom. And one of them is the parable of the mustard seed. According to Jesus, the mustard seed is the smallest of all seeds of the Earth. Yet when planted, it grows to become the largest of all garden plants. What can we learn from this?

Jesus is saying that God’s kingdom is big. But it comes as very small. And if care isn’t taken, it can be overlooked by men.

Do you realise that it’s easy to get born again? You hear the gospel, the Holy Spirit convicts you of sin, and then the minister leads you to Christ. As simple as this looks like; it has saved millions from going to hell.

But what about building something God tells you to do – a ministry, kingdom business or even a family? It comes as an idea through God’s still small voice in your spirit. Then you build on it till it becomes a great organisation over time.

Look at how a small church that started about thirty years ago expands across countries and continents. That tells us that we should never underestimate the power of God’s still small voice to build on anything He tells us to do, with or without the physical presence of resources.

Dear minister, you’ll have small beginnings. And that’s God’s programming. So that by the time your ministry is expanding, you will have trained enough faithful people to handle departments and branches you cannot manage yourself.

In every forest, there are trees. And in every tree, there are fruits. Then, in every fruit, there are seeds. So, the atom of every forest is a seed. In the same way, every huge thing God is telling you to build upon today will start small physically.

Look beyond the physical circumstances around your life and believe in the vision God is showing you in your mind. It’ll take time to manifest. But hold on to God’s voice, and be consistent at working towards it. He’ll be with you.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, empower me to build upon everything You show me according to Your pace and provision. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
