[6] “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.” – Ephesians 5:6 (NKJV)
What are empty words? They are words that don’t carry any value to the child of God. But they can be so enticing and deceptive because the devil is behind them. Scripture warns us against such words. That means it is possible for people to deceive some believers with such words.
Some people in this world are good at convincing others about what they do even though they know it’s fake. Every single day, people are duped by nice-talking fraudsters, and they get robbed. What a tragedy. But for believers, it’s even worse because such believers hardly suspect these deceivers.
There are strange things in this world. Too many people use dubious means to get money and take advantage of people. So, you must live wisely in this perverse generation. It is not everyone you are supposed to believe when he speaks to you. Even in church, there are people with diverse attitudes who are not even born again but have mixed up with the crowd.
Be careful with the people you speak with and partner with for projects. Some talk very nicely yet have sinister motives behind what they do. Grace be with you!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your gift of discernment. Help me to live to be watchful of my interactions with strange people, lest I get deceived. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
