[19] “We love Him because He first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19 (NKJV)
Can I ask you a question? Did you first love your parents, or did your parents first love you? The latter is correct. Right? Why is that so? They loved you first because they thought of bringing you into the world before having intimate moments. But even before that, God first loved you and chose you to come into the world to fulfil His purpose. Think about this.
God is your Father. He loves you unconditionally, even before any man considered bringing you into the world. When you were an unbeliever, He still had enough patience with you, hoping you would pay attention to the gospel of Christ that He keeps sending His servants to preach. Assuming you were saved at age sixteen, it means God waited sixteen years for you to come to Him. If He suffers long like this, not only for you but for everyone in the world, what makes you think He has given up on you?
Never let the devil talk you out of God’s love for you. Do not let Him lie to you that God has given up on you. He is Your Father. He won’t cast you out. He first loved you. He calls you by name. No matter how far you think you’ve gone, come to Him.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for loving me and sending Your Son to die for me. I choose to remain in You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
