It Is not Wrong to Take Pride in Yourself After Analysing Your Good Works Before God

[4] “But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.” – Galatians 6:4 (NKJV)

Every day, several people across the world work to make the world a better place. Talk about the various homes constructed, offices and cities built, tech systems developed, minds fed with educational resources, and, more importantly, daily salvations on the streets of nations. Work is really going on in this generation, and we bless God for that. However, even though people work, several of them are not able to enjoy the fruit of their labour. Besides salaries going into bills and payments, many are also not enjoying their work. So, they are both saddened and cash-strapped. What a tragedy!

From Galatians 6:4, examining your work as a child of God is essential. And after doing that, you can rejoice in yourself alone if it goes well. But if not, you must evaluate your life and return to God’s track. So, from the former, it is not wrong to take pride in yourself after analysing your good works before God. Yes, that’s the truth. You have every right to feel joyful as you celebrate God’s great work done through you over the years.

Are you a minister of God? Sometimes, reminisce about the number of people who have heard the gospel through you and be joyful about it in the Lord. I think that can be an antidote to overthinking about the next project for which you may not have the funds to do. Stop thinking so much about your future that you forget to celebrate what the Lord has been doing daily in your life (I speak this, especially to visionary leaders). Rejoice in the Lord and continue working. The Lord is your strength.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy in my life. Sometimes, help me to reflect on Your goodness over my life as I move forward to doing greater exploits. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
