[8] “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” – Ephesians 2:8 (NIV)
Salvation, the most precious gift God will ever give to anybody who is an unbeliever, cost Jesus’ life. Though it is a free gift from God, it isn’t cheap because the Son of man died for us when we were unworthy. No believer, including you and I, is ever qualified to get salvation from God. That is why the Bible says it is by grace we have been saved. Think about that!
Whatever you get by grace is not dependent on your human efforts to lay hold on it. It is from God, but you get access to it through faith, which also belongs to Christ in you (see Hebrews 12:2). Faith is important but becomes effectual in the believer’s life by the God-kind of love and by speaking. The unbeliever does not yet have God’s love. So, the only way to resort to exercising the faith he receives upon hearing the gospel is by speaking it. Now, the words of faith to speak for a person to accept Jesus are also unknown to the unbeliever, and that is where the minister guides him.
As a minister evangelising Christ Jesus to the lost, preach the Word relentlessly and help people to accept Jesus as Lord and personal saviour. As a child of God, exercise your faith by expressing God’s love to the brethren and the lost, and also speak it by exercising your spiritual authority through prayer.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to have more compassion for the lost as I reach out to them with Your gospel. To any minister evangelising Christ out there, may they never lack provision. Thank You, Jesus. Amen!
