“Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” - Luke 1:34-35 KJV
When we receive instruction from God about a task relating to what He’s about to do in our lives, in most cases, we look at the physical hindrances against us first before turning to trust His Word. God’s Word is alive and powerful, sharper than any double-edged sword, yet if not believed, it does not affect our lives.
When Mary received heaven’s news that she would be the mother of the Messiah, the first question she asked the angel Gabriel was, “how shall this be?” According to her biological understanding, there can’t be a pregnancy without sex. But God proved it otherwise. God, the creator of sex, showed us that He doesn’t need Mary to be intimate with Joseph to bring Jesus unto the earth. He only needed the Holy Spirit to come upon her and also for her to be overshadowed with the power of the Highest (the Father).
What is that stumbling block between where you are now and where God is taking you? I want to minister grace unto you that that thing isn’t too powerful to refute God’s Word. When you doubt how God’s promises will manifest, ask Him to show you what you need to do. Don’t let that question, “how shall this be?” make you doubt the potency of God’s Word. Trust God too much to discard His promises concerning your life.
You’re a blessing.
