“So the child grew and became strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel.” - Luke 1:80 NKJV
God trains people He wants to use for exploits in His kingdom. How He does it varies from person to person. But there’s one common thing He loves doing during the training process. He hides people in the wilderness of their lives before manifesting them.
The wilderness is the hiding season in a person’s life. It’s a season full of uncomfortabilities, afflictions, struggles, and persistent intimidations, of which some even threaten whether the called is indeed called by God or not.
I’ve learned something about God. When He chooses a person to be a mighty asset for His kingdom exploits, He hides him so that that person won’t despise the Lord’s training. Naturally, no person called by God is instantly fit to handle all the tasks and projects related to vision fulfillment. There are character flaws, unprincipled and wrong mindsets to renew in the Word, and even new relationships to build for the sake of destiny. All these things get done in the process of the Lord’s training.
Without the training, the person’s character cannot handle where God is raising Him.
Despite the strange circumstances surrounding John the Baptist’s birth, the Word says he grew and became strong in spirit. He got filled with the Holy Spirit from his mother’s womb, but that didn’t give him any license to skip his spiritual training in the Lord. He had parents who were pastors, yet he was in the deserts, receiving training. When he passed, then he was manifested publicly in Israel.
Today, when God exalts a few faithful ministers in His kingdom, some people think they skipped the His training. The fact that you didn’t see another’s training doesn’t mean he avoided it. No!
Nobody inquired about how John the Baptist survived in the wilderness, but the Israelites received his ministry. Dear trainee in Christ, you may not even get others to cheer you up during your training season. Others may mock you for following God. But don’t be discouraged. As God trains you, He’ll raise and lift you. You only have to humble yourself before Him.
You’re a blessing.
