“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,” - Ephesians 2:8 NKJV
Suppose I want to travel from my residence to another city in Ghana. I have to use a transport vehicle such as a car or a motorcycle on a good road. However, if the transport vehicle is terrible, the trip won’t be successful. From this analogy, let’s explain how a person gets saved in Christ.
The grace responsible for bringing salvation to every soul on the earth has appeared to all men, even though some don’t know or can’t see it (Titus 2:11). But the kind of faith that needs to come unto a person to be saved isn’t available everywhere. It comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
From the analogy in the first paragraph, Christ is the destination; grace is the road, and faith is the car. Without the car, I can’t get to where I want to travel, even though the road is good. God wants everybody to get saved by grace through faith, so He gave Christ to die for us (that is, giving us a good road). But the Word of faith (which is the car) must be preached so that through it, faith will be available to ensure the person gets saved (the destination).
There’s no physical work for anyone to do to receive salvation. Unbelievers only need faith to get access to the salvation grace. And this is what the Holy Spirit uses the Word we Christians preach to convict them. Dear minister or believer, don’t stop preaching the gospel. For you have that faith the unbelievers need to receive salvation. Keep speaking the Word.
You’re a blessing.
