[20] “For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.” – 1 John 3:20 (NKJV)
Satan is an expert in making many people, especially some believers, look down on themselves by bombarding them with condemning thoughts following something terrible they may have done. Has your heart condemned you before, probably because of a sin you were involved in? How does it feel like? Very disgusting. Right? That was the devil, not God.
Today, I’m glad to tell you that the Bible says God is greater than your heart, even when it’s condemning you. He knows everything, including all the details of your life. So, even though He has forgiven and chosen to forget your sins (see Hebrews 8:12), He knows that the enemy can come and inflict pain on your mind; suppose you do something that grieves the Holy Spirit in you.
Can you forgive yourself for what you’ve done and let God’s refreshing grace renew you? When you feel condemned, run to Jesus in prayer. Pour out your heart to Him. But after He has healed you of your shortcomings, don’t return to satisfying the fleshly desires.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for liberating me. I declare I am free from all forms of condemning thoughts. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
