The Word of God Is a Mirror of Your True Identity

[23] “For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: [24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” – James 1:23-24 (KJV)

Women are one unique people on this earth who pay much attention to how they look. Because of that, it’s natural for a lady to spend hours in front of a mirror when dressing up to go somewhere. But do you know something? When she leaves the mirror, she has to believe what the mirror says about her body, or else she will have to come and check how she looks. Interesting!

Unlike how the mirror reflects what is in front of it, God’s Word reflects who God has made you when you behold it, not how you are right now. Why do I say that? Because it is easy for the enemy to judge you for whatever bad thing you have done. But God calls you by name. And this is why you must believe what God says about you strongly. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV) says,

[18] “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

The more you behold God’s Word, the more you’ll be transformed to become more and more like Jesus. Why? Because Jesus is your true identity (see 1 John 4:17). And since Jesus is the Word, then the Word of God is a mirror of your true identity in Christ. No matter how busy you are, never stop reading the Bible.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to get more exposed to Your unfailing Word so that I will be transformed from glory to glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
